Restaurants

If you’re going to be spending an evening at the theatre, you’re going to want to make sure you’re well fed before the show starts; the last thing any theatre-goer wants is to be stuck next to someone with a rumbling stomach drowning out all the best lines. The National Theatre is located on London’s notoriously touristy South Bank, surrounded by all manner of restaurants looking to cash in on the artsy crowds that are drawn to the area. We’ve put together this page so that you can choose the right restaurant for you.

Arch One Bar & Grill

If you’re the kind of person who likes to be seen at all of the most popular places before anyone else has even heard of them, wearing the most designer clothes, then Arch One Bar & Grill is certainly for you. A grill menu is available with cuisine from both land and see as well as some alternative pasta and salad options, which compliment the chic surroundings. Plus, if your feet so desire, you can return after the show for a night of dancing.

Mezzanine

Has your train been delayed and left you with little time to find somewhere to eat before the show? Or maybe signal failures held you up on the tube. It’s not unlikely, but luckily the National Theatre has its own restaurant where you can get something to eat before taking your seats. The venue features a modern European set menu with seasonal options with two courses weighing in at £21.50. The sophisticated dishes range from Creedy Carver duck breast to pumpkin pie and are served in an understated yet elegant atmosphere.
